FRANCIS ROBERTSON Obituary

ROBERTSON, FRANCIS E., "Robbie," 94, passed away on June 28, 2010. Robbie was born on August 21, 1915, in Washington, D.C. to Mary and James. He grew up in a very large family. Robbie was the middle child of 10 children, six boys and four girls. Robbie actually picked up the name Robbie when he was playing semi-pro baseball. After high school, Robbie was working for a utilities company in D.C., when he was drafted into the Army during WWII. After spending 25 years in the military, he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. After his service, he worked at NASA for 20 years in the Information Technology Department. He retired from NASA in 1984. In 1944, Robbie married Virginia (whom he called Jenny) in TX. She worked for the Red Cross and the two met at a dance. Together they had five children, Robin, Fred, twin daughters Teri and Pam, and his youngest son Chuck. He also had four grandchildren, Deirdre, David,
Jonathan, and Abby. Robbie was most proud of his family. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, July 1, 2010, at 10:30 a.m., at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, Goldenrod Chapel, 7520 Aloma Ave., Winter Park, FL, 32792. Please view and sign guestbook at www.baldwinfairchild.com.
