Jacqueline Bailes Obituary

Jacqueline "Jackie" Holloway Bailes, loving wife, mother, grandmother and dedicated community volunteer to family causes died August 8, 2021 at her home in Bay Hill. She was 90.

Jackie lived with a joy of life and an encouraging spirit to everyone around her. From the smallest of her 14 great grandchildren to corporate executives she recruited to support non-profit organizations, she inspired togetherness and a commitment to making people's lives better.

Daughter to ABC Fine Wine & Spirits founder Jack Holloway, Jackie became a driving force behind the establishment and growth of UCP of Central Florida, donating and raising money over several decades to build multiple school campuses that serve thousands of children with special needs each year, including the UCP Bailes Campus at UCF.

Also known for her avid angler skills and as the "queen of southern cooking," Jackie lived as a servant leader in the community, both as a vocal advocate for children with disabilities and the working uninsured . She volunteered her time and energy to Shepherd's Hope and St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Orlando as well.

She is survived by her husband Charles Elmore Bailes Jr., sons Charles (Kim) Bailes, Jess (Betsey) Bailes, daughters Janet (Roger) Larue and Cindy Bailes, and brother John W. (Diana) Holloway; along with 11 grandchildren Chris (Konni) Larue, David (Tina) Larue, Marie (JD) Robertson, Courtney (Chris) Quarles, Ashley (Sean) Kelly, Charlie (Leigh Ann) Bailes, Alex Timmerman, McClaine Timmerman, Luke Denny, Jesse Bailes, Jacob Bailes and 14 great grandchildren.

A family memorial service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to UCP Bailes Campus.

Dear Bailes Family,
We were deeply saddened to know that Jacqueline has transformed into Spirit. When wonderful and beautiful people leave the Earth, it becomes darker even on a bright sunny day. I interacted with Jacqueline at convivial occasions, the airport, and the grocery store. Her radiance permeated the meetings with beauty and with wisdom. When Matriarchs are taken away from the family, there is a great chasm of emptiness. Knowing that a beautiful lady touched many lives and made the world a better place gives some softening of grief. Our prayers and condolences will continue for the Bailes Family.
Sincerely yours,
Joe and June Clenney

To the entire Bailes family. It's hard to express how much you all mean to our family. Growing up as neighbors, me sharing a birthday with Mrs Bailes and always going shopping together to buy each other a gift, and all the wonderful trips my parents, Mr. and Mrs Bailes and the Larmons took together. We considered them family. Mrs. Bailes was a wonderful, kind, and loving person. We had a very special bond and I loved her dearly. Sending big hugs and lots of love to the family!

She was a great lady, always supportive. My 2nd mother that treated me as her third son. I am so grateful for her love and understanding. She was very special. The family is always in my thoughts.

Jackie Bailes was a very special and generous lady. She always looked like she stepped out of a fashion magazine and had a beautiful smile and happy personality. She loved hosting parties, especially for her family, and made events so much fun. I recall how Jackie worked to have extra large plush animals ( in costumes no less) created for each of her grandchildren at Christmas. It was a joy and a blessing to know her.

She was a gift of irrepressible joy to all of us. She was, indeed, the woman the biblical writers described in Proverbs 31.
