Richard DeShetler

DeSHETLER, RICHARD (DICK), age 68, of Apopka, FL, surrounded by family, passed away on, November 20, 2002. Dick was born in Toledo, OH. He graduated High School from St. Charles Prep School, received his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Ohio State University. He served in the U.S. Army. Dick began his career with Q.M. Scotts & Sons in Marysville, OH, later Jacobson Mfg, Racine, WI, relocated his family to Central Florida where he established Florida Outdoor Equipment in l976. He later retired as CEO. Dick is survived by his wife of 48 years, Margaret (Peggy); sons, Richard (Keith) DeShetler of Apopka and Mark DeShetler of Longwood; daughters, Ann Gioiosa of Altamonte Springs, Susan Thomas of Roswell, GA, Mary Beth Forrester of Apopka, and Karyn Karapiperis of Sorrento; brother, Donald DeShetler of Lady Lake; sisters, Jeannine Thompson of Fort Myers, and Judy Davis of Grove City, OH; nine grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by sister, Sally Capozzi, Baltimore. Dick was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Mt. Dora, Errol Estates Country Club, a past member of both the Knights of Columbus and Board of Hospice, and he volunteered at Give Kids the World. Dick was an avid golfer, and he enjoyed being with his family, reading, and walking on the beach. He was very much loved and will remain in 0our hearts. Visitation will be held on, Sunday, November 24, from 4-7PM with a prayer service at 6:30 at Loomis Funeral Home in Apopka. Services will be held Monday, November 25, at 10AM at St. Patricks Catholic Church, 6803 Old Highway 441, Mt. Dora, FL.
