Warren Ziettlow Obituary

Warren G. Ziettlow, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, went to be with his Lord on June 26, 2016. The son of the late Oscar and Ella (Matzke) Ziettlow was born near Swanton, Neb. April 14, 1929. He had three brothers, Harlon and Wayne who preceded him in death, and Carryl who lives in Le Mars, Iowa. On June 15, 1952, he married Elaine Kilpatrick in St. Paul, Neb.

Warren and his wife, Elaine have three children, David and his wife Lisa (nee Swank) of Midland, Darryl and his wife Ellen (nee Schafer) of Odessa, Fla., and Leanne and her partner Ann Schlachter of Omaha, Neb. They also have three grandchildren, Joel of Ann Arbor, Benjamin and his wife Anamaria of Ft. Myers, Fla., and Hallie of Clearwater, Fla..

After attending the University of Nebraska, Warren was employed at the Nebraska Department of Roads, in Lincoln, Neb. for over 40 years on their engineering staff. Their move to Michigan came in 1993. Much summer camping was enjoyed as well as their 12 winters spent in Florida. Since moving to Michigan, Warren was active in the First United Methodist Church in Midland and the Midland Kiwanis Club. He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge, joining in Elkhorn, Neb. in 1957. He continued to be a member there as well as the Midland Masonic Lodge #273 F. & A.M.

Memorial services will take place at 11 am, Thursday, June 30, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church, 315 W. Larkin Street, The Rev. Dr. Charles Keyworth officiating. Interment will take place in the Shrader Garden. Warren's family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of services. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the First United Methodist Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Directors.
