Joe E. Smith, 78, of Paducah, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024, at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Joe retired as a chemical operator from Carbide Graphite in Calvert City and was a member of Sharpe Missionary Baptist Church.
Joe is survived by his wife, Liz Smith; four children, Joe Ed Smith, John Smith, Jeremy Smith, Amy Geise; four siblings, 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Joe in death are his parents, Leroy and Hazel Smith, and a son, Scott Grimes.
Friends may call at 11 a.m. to service hour on Monday at Sharpe Missionary Baptist Church or 5-8 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 18, at Lindsey Funeral Home.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19, at Sharpe Missionary Baptist Church with Chris Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Hampton Cemetery in Livingston County.
Memorial donations may be made to Sharpe Missionary Baptist Church for their mission trips.
Lindsey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
