Margaret Finnell Obituary
Margaret Finnell, 91, of Paducah, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023, at Mercy Health-Lourdes Hospital.
Margaret was born in Paducah on Dec. 12, 1932, to the late Frank and Jessie Mitchell Dunlap. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, where she truly loved her church family and enjoyed singing in the choir. Margaret and her husband, "Herb," owned and operated the Lone Oak Florist Shop for over 21 years. Her family will remember her as being the most loving and caring woman who loved spending every moment with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even great-great-grandchildren.
Margaret is survived by her two daughters, Beverly Carter of Benton and Linda (Jim) Smith of Paducah; five grandchildren, Matthew (Melanie) Carter of Benton, Stephen (Natalie) Carter of Paducah, Aaron (Nickie) Carter of Benton, Scott (Mary) Smith of Paducah, and Rachel (Jacob) Morris of Paducah; 13 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Herbert "Herb" Finnell; two brothers, Everett Dunlap and Frank Dunlap; son-in-law Rev. F. Wayne Carter; and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Dr. Jason Browning officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
