ROSEMARY TOOMEY Rosemary Toomey passed onto Eternal Life unexpectedly on April 16, 2009 in her home in Stuart, FL. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and moved to New Jersey as a young child. It is where she fell in love and married the love of her life of 63 years, Gerald H. Toomey. In 1958 the Toomey Family moved to Easton, Massachusetts where they raised their two wonderful children Gerry and Donna. In 1989, Rosemary and Gerald relocated to Carver, Massachusetts where she was active at the YMCA and the Red Hat Society. Subsequently after enjoying many winters in sunny Florida, they decided to make Stuart their permanent home. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Auxiliary in Palm Beach Gardens. Rosemary is survived by her husband, Gerald H. Toomey, a son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Odette Toomey of Davie, Florida; a daughter, Donna MacLauchlin of Hobe Sound, Florida; a brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Cathy Schaefer of Carteret, New Jersey; grandchildren, Todd MacLauchlin of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Kelly Toomey of Richmond, Virginia, Heather Zaleski of Tolland, Connecticut, Sean Toomey of Seattle, Washington and Gerry Toomey of Seattle, Washington. She was also survived by three great-grandchildren, Joshua Toomey of Richmond, Virginia, Mark MacLauchlin of Port St. Lucie, Florida and her namesake, Jenna Rose Zaleski of Tolland, Connecticut. In addition, she will be greatly missed by many friends and extended family. Rosemary was predeceased by her mother and father, Herman and Mary Schaefer; a sister, Catherine Rose; a nephew, Raul Rose and son-in-law, Rev. Dr. James MacLauchlin. A celebration of Rosemary's life will be on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at Aycock Funeral Home Chapel with visitation from 10:30 AM - 11:00 AM. There will be a memorial service immediately following at 11:00 AM and a reception at Miles Grant Country Club, Cove Road (East), Stuart.
