Sidney MILLER Obituary
Sidney Z. Miller, age 100, of Century Village, West Palm Beach passed away at home in his sleep on Thursday, July 17, 2014. Sid was 100 years, 4 months and 2 days old. Sidney was born in Newark, NJ on March 15, 1914 to Charles and Sadie Miller. Sid had just celebrated his 100th Birthday with a big party at the IL Bellagio in City Place West Palm Beach with relatives and friends who flew in from all over to share in his milestone birthday. Sid owned Sid Miller's Meat Market on Bergen Street in Newark, NJ. In 1952 Sid moved his family to Maplewood, NJ and opened Sid Miller Purveyor of Prime Meats in South Orange. In the 1960's Sid had a brush with fame when his casting director son, Dick, cast Sid and his wife Buddy on ABC-TV's: "That's Life" starring Leslie Uggams. Sid and Buddy were avid ballroom dancers. Sid continued this dancing tradition throughout his 100th year. Sid lived alone, cooked his own meals and didn't take any medication. He played doubles tennis for 3 hours daily until the age of 89. He loved life and use to sit in the parking lot of his Century Village condo for 3 hours daily waiving to passers-by. Sid enjoyed the Miami Heat games and watched the tennis matches from all over the World. He was active until his final day. Sidney was predeceased by his loving wife Anne "Buddy" Miller (August 31, 1989), a sister, Janet Miller Grossman, and five brothers; Paul, Leo, Jack, Danny and Irving Miller. He was also predeceased by a grandson, Garrett Cameron Miller. Sid is survived by his dedicated and caring son, Ambassador Dick Miller, Ambassador of Goodwill for the Island Government of Aruba (Honorary), and his beloved daughter-in-law Deborah of Port Charlotte, FL, and two dearly beloved daughters; Tobie Miller Patmas of New York City and Judith Z. Miller of Southhampton, NY. Sidney has one surviving sister; Joyce Miller Dziczkowski (84) of Anaheim, CA. Sid is survived by his numerous nieces and nephews and his devoted friend Gloria Range, along with many other friends all of whom will truly miss Mr. Personality, Sid Miller. Cremation arrangements are being handled by All County Funeral Home of Lake Worth, FL.

You were always The Dapper one! I still got my long pony tail just like you with the thin mustache!

Dear Uncle Sid, I was reading this again and I see it´s 9 years for you and my mother too.
I remember you and Aunt Buddy always were so polished and everything in the right place.
I even remember you had a small pony tail too!
I was in south orange and I saw you going into the dry cleaners and I stopped and went and found you. White Hair and always tan!
All the years of clean living and training and dancing kept you going! You were a special guy! Still are!

Oh my goodness Uncle Sid. You were the most dapper guy I ever met! Smart funny and always were very kind to me. Friday I will add your name for the rabbai to read and say Kaddish with you in my heart!
When your young you don´t realize certain things till you get older. Wish I spent more time with you but I loved you just the same!

Dad, we grew closer the last couple of years and shared quality time together talking, going out to dinner and I even learned to love basketball watching your favorite Miami Heat on TV and talking about the games the next day! Deborah (my wife) and I (your son) miss you. But, we have hundreds of photos and videos from special occasions to bring back beautiful memories. Each year we celebrated your Birthdays and who could forget your BIG 80th Birthday with a tremendous party at the Holiday Inn on Singer Island. And everyone who attended your 100th Birthday will always remember that Milestone Celebration at Il Bellagio restaurant in City Place, West Palm Beach. Then there were Thanksgiving Dinners at various restaurants. Yes, the memories will live on as long as all of us do!
