Joan Mary Gardner

GARDNER-Joan Mary Gardner, born Joan Mary Archer on May 19, 1936, lost her valiant 2-year fight against cancer June 7, 20 04. Joan is survived by her husband of 46 years, Alexander "Doc" Gardner, daughters Victoria, Barbara, and Susan and her grandchildren Alyssa and Matthew. Joan was a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She will be remembered for her incredible generosity of spirit, her humor and her love of family and friends. Joan leaves this world a better place for having been a part of it and will be deeply missed by all who were privileged to know her. Reading was her lifelong passion, so it is only fitting that friends and family will celebrate Joan's life at a Memorial Service Saturday June 12th at 11:00 A.M. at the Alvord Room of the Monrovia Public Library. In lieu of flowers, Joan's family would appreciate a donation to a favorite charity in her name.
