Silvia Lynn Bernstein

BERNSTEIN -Silvia Lynn Bernstein. Beloved wife, mother, and friend to many passed away March 22, 2002 in Rancho Mirage, California. Sylvia was born November 23, 1949 in Pasadena, CA to Thomas W. Morgon and his wife, Betty. Sylvia, a resident of San Gabriel, is survived by her husband, Monty, her son, Blake, her father, Thomas, and her sister, Jeanette. Sylvia grew up in the Pasadena area and attended Pasadena High School. In 1970, she graduated from L.A. County / U.S.C. Medical Center as an RN, where she practiced for many years and was elected Nurse of The Year. Later, she became a nurse practitioner specializing in Women's Health and Infertility. She was the first West Coast Nurse practitioner in infertility. Following a career change, she opened a successful business serving Arcadia and neighboring communities. Her athletic passion was golf. As a wife-member of the San Gabriel County Club, she participated in numerous club and inter-club tournaments. She won many trophies for her stellar golfing and superior sportsmanship. Sylvia was a board member for the Cattle Baron's Ball, a fund raising organization for the American Cancer Society. Her life long devotion to helping others was completed with organ donation, so that others could live. Sylvia touched the lives of many people and will be missed and remembered by all who knew her. She was a brilliant star, who guided others gently and happliy through life. Friends and rela tives are invited to attend a memorial service to celebrate her life Thursday, March 28, at 1:00 P.M. at Pasadena Presbyterian Church, 585 E. Colorado Blvd. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to her favorite organziation, The American Cancer Society. Lovingly submitted by Jeanette Coffin, sister.
