KEITH MCMILLEN Retired Chief Master Sgt. Keith L. "Mickey" McMillen fought the good fight, finished the course and kept the faith when he passed away on October 15, 2013 at the age of 87. Mickey was born in Horton, Kansas on March 13, 1926 and was raised during The Great Depression on a farm near Bethany, Missouri. Son of Earl and Grace McMillen. Surviving to cherish his memory is his devoted sweetheart and wife of 59 years, Angie Lee Spath McMillen; daughter, Sandra Kennedy and her husband Peter of Jolon, California; daughter, Cynthia Hauser and her husband Allan of Murrieta, California; grandchildren, Brian Kennedy and his wife Katie of Centreville, Virginia; Matthew Ruiz and Sarah Hauser of Murrieta, California; great grandchildren, Connor Kennedy, Kelsey Kennedy and Kayleigh Kennedy of Centreville, Virginia; brother, Bernard McMillen, wife Marilyn; nephews, Scott and Eric of St. Joseph, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth McMillen. He dedicated 23 years of service to his country following his enlistment into the U.S. Army in 1944-1946 where he distinguished himself in heavy fighting during WWII in the Pacific for the retaking of Corregidor. He decided that the military life was what he wanted and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1952. After retiring from the Air Force, Mickey was a systems analyst for Dillingham Corp. in Honolulu, Hawaii and then went on to become owner and operator of several successful carwashes in Riverside, California area. The world has lost one of it's very best. What remains for me is the memory of his intelligence, desire to do well, his love of family and the contribution he made to his country. My heart goes out to Angie and his family. He was my friend and I will keep him close.

Mick and Angie, and daughters, were our neighbors at Randolph Air Force Base in Texas - we shared a duplex. My husband, Pete, and I were newlyweds and we could not have asked for a better couple as role models than Mick and Angie. They were the perfect example of a "good military marriage" and we were so blessed to have them in our life. Mick and Pete shared their love of the United States Air Force and were military to the core. Due to military transfers, we eventually went our separate ways but we never lost touch and when we did see each other or talk it was as if no time had passed at all - we were friends and miles did not matter. My heart goes out to Angie, Sandi and Cindi - the last goodbye is the most difficult to say but Mick is not lost as we will all carry him in our heart.
