Phillip Adams Obituary
Phillip Doyle Adams of Port Angeles lost his life in an auto accident on February 9, 2013. He was 69 years old.
He came as a late Christmas present to Port Angeles couple Harvey J. Adams Sr. and Harriette L. Hall-Adams on December 26, 1943.
After his honorable discharge from the U.S. Air Force, he put his efforts toward his education, first achieving an Associate of Arts, then his Bachelor of Arts, before finally achieving his master's degree in education.
He worked for Boeing in Auburn, Washington, Rayonier in Port Angeles and spent the last 35 years of his career as a counselor at Peninsula College.
In his free time, he led the Adams Family Band and Country Gold as singer and lead guitarist. The group played at all the local venues and special events.
He was the president of his Eagles Club aerie and a member of the Sequim Valley Lions Club. Phillip was also a Jamestown S'Klallam tribal elder.
His Catholic faith was very important to him.
Phillip was married three times, first to Shari Coffman, then to Carol Adams and finally to Carolyn Adams.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Adams; sons Gerry Adams, Darryle Adams and Eric Adams; daughter Sonja Darland; Carolyn's children, GBO Decal, Chris Jensen, Ron Hoy, Ronda Stampfli and Lani Kai Jensen; brothers Harvey J. Adams Jr., Mathew Adams, Paul Adams, Patrick Adams, John Adams and Robert Adams; sisters Florence M. Monson, Ann Adams, Margaret Adams, Mary Adams and Susan Adams; 41 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Harriette L. Hall-Adams; father Harvey J. Adams; and son Phillip Adams Jr.
A celebration of his life will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 16, at Red Cedar Hall on the Jamestown S'Klallam Tribal Campus.
Memorial contributions in his honor may be made to his widow, Carolyn Adams, at 106 South Jensen Road, Port Angeles, WA 98362.

Please know that Phil was one of those people who always had his door open to students and colleagues here at Peninsula College; I admired him so much for that. He was one of my favorite co-workers. I am so sorry. I'll never forget how he and another Phil used to sing out their names to each other when they met on campus. His song will be missed. Phil was his own unique music.

Our sympathies to the entire Adams family. Phil was one of those guys who always had good words about everyone and was genuinely happy to see you, no matter what. We,last saw him a couple weeks before his passing,an enjoyable time catching up with him and learning about the rest of the family. he was proud of you all and will be sorely missed. RIP, Phil!
