Gregory Koon Obituary
1937-2017
Greg went to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, April 04, 2017 at Covenant Hospice, West Florida Hospital. He was born in Kankakee, Illinois and grew up in Elgin, Illinois. After earning a Bachelor's degree in The Arts from Cornell College, he moved to Pensacola and earned a Master's Degree at UWF. He began a career in Human Resources Management field at Mutual Federal Savings and Loan. After several years he moved to Clearwater, Florida and joined Equitable Mortgage Resources as Senior Director of Human Resources. His career took him to Texas where he became Sr. Director of Human Resources with a group of hospitals. After retirement Greg moved back to Pensacola. Greg is survived by his wife Carolyn Koon , two children; Son, Scott (Stacey) of Atlanta and Daughter, Kristy Fowler (Tom) of Atlanta. His Brother Bryan Koon (Dottie) of Wisconsin, Step-Son, Jim Newcome (Kim) of Pace and granddaughters; Sydney, MaKenzie, Madison, Abby, and Sarah. And last but not least his special cousin Kathy (Dick) Rue of Houston, Texas. A time of visitation will be held Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from 11:00-1:00 p.m. at Family-Funeral & Cremation, 7253 Plantation Road, Pensacola, Florida. A Private Burial Service will held at a later date. A special thanks to the Wonderful staff at Covenant Hospice at West Florida Hospital. Family-Funeral & Cremation has been entrusted with arrangements.
