Robert Gober Obituary

Robert Arnold Gober "Bob", 74, of Pace, FL, entered into his eternal rest with Jesus Christ at his home after a lengthy illness, on August 4, 2010. Bob was born in Birmingham, AL and was the only child of Bill and Inez Gober.
Bob graduated from Pensacola High and from Pensacola Junior College. He attended the University of Florida. He was a Pensacola business man for over 40 years, owning and operating Electric Motor Service and Gober's Electric Motor Service. As the ultimate outdoorsman he was an avid hunter and fisherman. Conforming to his love for nature he found peace and solitude on the water and in the woods. His last trip with his wife was to Alaska, which he thought was the most beautiful and rugged area in America.
Bob is survived by: the love of his life, Shirley; his sons, Shane King (Dianna), Todd King (Summer); and his perfect grandchildren, Taylor, Austin, Courtney, Kaylee and Kenna, who lovingly called him GrandBob. His friends and extended family brought him great happiness and more relatives than an only child could ever imagine and they were his constant companions and support during his prolonged illness.
TRAHAN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
He requested a private interment, with friend, Dr. Dale Patterson officiating. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at his Pace home, on August 7, 2010, from 2 until 5.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to Covenant Hospice, 5907 Berryhill Road, Milton, FL 32570, or Wildlife Sanctuary of NW FL, Inc., 105 N "S" St., Pensacola, FL 32505. Many thanks to all the Santa Rosa staff at Hospice for their excellent care and kindness. Ecclesiastes 12:6-7

Bob was one of the nicest people to be around and do business with. He loved his family and his honesty and integrity was something you didn't find anymore. He loved Pensacola and he loved to talk about the old days of fishing and scooter riding with his friends in old Pensacola.
He will be missed.
