Robert Greathouse Obituary
1941-2007Robert E. "Bob" Greathouse, Sr. died Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at Baptist Manor.
Bob was born in Decatur, AL January 16, 1941. He moved to Pensacola in 1945. He attended St. Michael's and Little Flower Elementary Schools, Catholic High School and Pensacola Junior College.
He retired after 25 years with Gayfers at Town and Country and Cordova Mall, as a receiving and shipping manager.
He is preceded in death by his parents W.A. and Irene Greathouse and his grandson, Bryan Greathouse.
He is survived by his wife Nancy, of 44 years; sons, Gene (Paula), David (Sis), Paul, Chris (Jamie); grandchildren, Brandon, Krista, Zachary, Ashley, Alyssa, Brianna, Kristan and Haley; brothers, John (Tonya) and Thomas; brother-in-law, Nick (Donna) Welch and 4 nephews and 1 niece. He will be remembered as a very loving father and Papa.
He attended Little Flower Catholic Church, active in Little League Baseball, Football and Basketball.
He also enjoyed camping, working on automobiles, light carpentry and spoiling his granddaughters.
The family wishes to recognize the caring, empathetic and professional help from Dr. Boundrant, Phlecia Partain, R.N. and the entire staff of Baptist Manor during his stay at Baptist Hospital and Baptist Manor. We couldn?t have asked for better medical care and genuine concern for his well being. The care he received was incredible. Thanks to all who helped make his final years a beautiful and happy journey.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Baptist Manor, 10095 Hillview Dr., Pensacola, FL 32514.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 6-8pm Thursday, March 29th at Oak Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will begin at 11am Friday March 30th at Little Flower Catholic Church.
Pallbearers will be Jay Greathouse, Chester Stanhope, Don Godwin and George Kennel.
OAK LAWN FUNERAL HOME is entrusted with the arrangements.
