FRANKLIN, N.C. — On Feb. 4, 2018, Becky Ford Brazier passed away in her home in Franklin, N.C., after a brief bout with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family at the time of her death.
Born in Springfield, Ill., on Aug. 14, 1950, she moved at a young age to Pickens S.C., where she met her future husband Bob Brazier. Both Becky and Bob graduated from Pickens High School in 1968 and then from Clemson University in 1972. Becky later received a Master's of Science from Georgia Tech.
Becky and Bob were married in Grace Methodist Church in Pickens on Dec. 15, 1970. Becky went on to have a successful career in management in the communications industry, beginning with Western Electric in 1972.
She retired in 2000 from Lucent Technologies to spend time with her children and to devote time to charitable service, spending the last several years of her life cooking at CareNet in Franklin, N.C. Her family and friends remember her for her sense of humor, adventurous spirit, and fantastic cooking.
She is survived by her husband Bob, her daughter Tori and her son Rob.
There will be visitation at the First United Methodist Church, 66 Harrison Avenue, Franklin N.C., starting at 1 p.m. on Thursday Feb. 8, with services to follow at 2 p.m.
Burial will be at Tippet cemetery near the Brazier family home following the service. The family will receive guests at their home after the grave side service.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Macon County Care Net, 130 Bidwell Street, Franklin, NC 28734.
