Betty Richardson Obituary

Betty Jean Richardson
Norfolk - Betty Jean Richardson, 84, of Norfolk was called home to God on Tuesday, October 9, 2012. Betty Jean was born April 7, 1928. She married the love of her life Charles C. Richardson, Jr. on May 27, 1950 and they have traveled the last 62 years of their lives together.
She devoted her life to her daughters Dianna Landon and Carol Carter and their husbands Charlie Landon and Danny Carter, Sr.
She volunteered 35 years of her time to helping voters at the polls on election days. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, Epsilon Master Chapter for 47 years. She held several offices and made many friends during her time in the sorority. She also enjoyed her time in the Red Hatters Club.
But her most favorite times were spent playing cards with all her family and friends at her beach cottage in Sandbridge.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of her five grandchildren, Camie, Kelly, Jason, Matthew and Megan and her seven great grandchildren, Cameron, Skyelar, Aydan, Corey, Carsen, Baileigh and Madelyn. She was blessed with three step-grandchildren, Chrissie, Danny Ray, and Dennis, along with seven step- great grandchildren, Jacky, Nadia, Devin, Kristian, Madison, Kiley and Krista.
All her children, grandchildren, friends, and sisters were all loved by her equally and even when she was not feeling well, she was always thinking of others, never of herself.
She will always be remembered as a loving, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend and sister to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
A celebration of her life will be conducted on Friday, October 12, at 11am at Norfolk Church of Christ, 5801 Granby St., Norfolk, VA 23505, by Pastor Robert Lee. A reception will follow the service. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
