Dr. Bob Brown, Sr.

Dr. Reshefsky was my classmate in Medical School, UVA. He was highly respected by our fellow classmates, a serious and conscientious scholar, and he was admired by his patients and professors alike. I'm also from Norfolk but I am sad to say I did meet Bonnie until our days together in Charlottesville. It was a real loss to his family, friends, and patients when he died at an early age.

Not only was I a classmate in medical school with Bonnie at UVA's School of Medicine, Class of 1967, but I also taught at the Norfolk Academy, 1956-1957, where Bonnie was a distinguished student in the Upper School. I will always fondly remember him as a kind, humble, caring and intelligent person.

Dr. Reshefsky, I am just now seeing this...I was a patient of yours back in the late 70's to 80's... you operated on me and you helped me with my crossed eyes...I could really use your help now but GOD needed you more...I will always be grateful to you... Much love to you, you were always like a father to me...God speed

Bonnie was a classmate in medical school, a friend respected by all who knew him. A strong sense of modesty kept his academic achievements, remarkable as they were, essentially unknown by us who admired him. He will be missed. He was indeed a good man. May God abundantly bless his family.

My husband and I met Dr. Reshefsky back in the early 70’s. He was young and had a new practice in Norfolk. My husband, Jerry Shell, was an optician in Norfolk. Our little boy, Chad, only two years old, needed help with a lazy eye. Dr. Reshefsky had never worked with a patient too young to even read eye charts. He went out and bought puppets to help him work with Chad. He did surgery and worked with our son for several years. Our son is 47 years old now and is still doing just fine. We will always be grateful for Dr. Reshefsky’s patience, knowledge and his eagerness to work with our 2 year old son. The world lost a wonderful doctor and man. May he Rest In Peace.
