Emma Taylor Obituary
Chesapeake - Emma Creech Taylor, 102, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 19, 2013, while in her home, surrounded by family. She was born on October 23, 1910 in Selma, North Carolina to the late Charles and Mary Creech; and was a member of the Ocean View Baptist Church, Kill Devil Hills, NC. Emma spent her working years in Portsmouth, VA, at The Monroe Restaurant, Hodges Seafood and The Deck.
Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Mary Alice Dibble and her husband Dale and Pamela Deans Little; a son, James "Al" Deans and wife Pat; seven grandchildren, Robert Dibble (Clarice), Kenneth Dibble (Sherlyn), Deborah Smith, James A. Deans III (Lee), Dana Gillentine, Kimberly Little, Tonya Trueblood (Brad); 16 great grandchildren; and 15 great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 10 AM Thursday January 24, 2013 in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel by Dr.s Robert and Kenneth Dibble. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Selma, NC at 3 PM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
