Frances Revell Paige

Portsmouth - A native of Suffolk Virginia, a dedicated teacher, and devout Christian, Frances Revell Paige left the cares and concerns of this earthly existence and entered into the presence of God and eternal rest December 15, 2016.

After receiving a bachelor's degree from Virginia Union University and a master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh, she began her teaching career and became the recipient of many honors and awards.

In addition to her educational endeavors, she was an active member of Community Presbyterian Church in Portsmouth, Virginia where she served as Elder, Sunday school teacher and leader of the Interfaith Bible Class.

The first Commissioned Ruling Elder in the Presbytery of Southern Virginia, she served as pulpit supply and guest speaker for churches and religious organizations.

One of the greatest fulfillments of her Christian aspirations was her appointment as a member of the pastoral team of Messiah Presbyterian Church in Norfolk, Virginia.

Those who will cherish her memory include her devoted husband of fifty-five years Oliver Paige; daughter Hadiyah Muhammad, son Rev. Keith Paige; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; nieces Shirley Horton, Joyce Harrell, Janie Thornton, Bertha and Delores Smith; nephews Elder Leroy and Carlton James, Odis Mann Jr.; other relatives, former students, and all who were touched by her ministry.

Funeral services will be held Thursday December 22, 2016 at Community Presbyterian Church Portsmouth: Visitation at 10:00am. Funeral 11:00am.

I will miss you Grandmama, I miss you now and I have missed you for so many years. In our last conversation which was so very short you remembered me for a glimpse of time and that was all I needed. I carry your name and I carry your spirit, as I am named after you; my daughter is named after your husband and caretaker. I will always love you, you made My mom in to an awesome classic individual with a marvelous sense of humor and strength beyond measure. I cherish the years when I was on the faculty at Woodrow Wilson High School in Portsmouth. Mrs. Paige was always a model of gentility and kindness. While I never was one of her students, I always admired and respected her skill as an educator. It was never difficult to love Frances. She was the source of an endless stream of love, and we shall greatly miss her. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, rest in peace.

I just recently learned of the passing of Mrs. Frances Paige. My deepest, sincerest condolences to Mr. Oliver Paige, Rev. Keith Paige and other family members on your loss. I have known Mrs. Paige for most of my life, I truly have a lot of respect for her and she is a very dear lady who will be truly missed by me. I am at loss for words right now. :(

She is healed from her ailments and is resting peacefully with the Lord in Heaven. Mrs. Paige you are truly free. I love you, God Bless you as you are the new Angel in Heaven now and rejoicing with my parents and your other friends.

Heaven is a beautiful and perfect place and you have entered the pearly gates. True Paradise. Again, Mrs. Paige you will be truly missed. Take care. God Bless.

I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs Paige. She was my senior homeroom teacher at I. C. Norcom. She was really an inspiration and just a sweet spirit.
