Midge,
Words are hard to come by, but thoughts and memories are sweet... eating shrimp around the kitchen table, listening to stories how a certain piece of junk was acquired, roaming the yard to inspect said junk... Precious parts of life...
So sorry for your loss, Midge. May the Lord comfort and sustain you through these days as He has through all the hard times, and may you find Him to be more than enough. Much love & a hug, ML

George and I met at the Naval Safety Center in the early 70's. Mide and George took John and I under their wings because we were a struggling young couple with John going to ODU. We spent many hours at their home on Radnor Avenue and going to Strick's Auction with them. George graciously agreed to help me get a very heavy joiner in the house to surprise John for Christmas. George like to remind us years later about how heavy that joiner was. George and I had birthdays close together and we had many birthday meals together. He especially liked for me to make stuffed cabbage for him. He was a fantastic man who loved his family and his friends. John and I are very fortunate that we were among his friends. Enjoy your memories and talk about him often.

I will never forget the visits to George and Midge's house when I was a child in Virginia, that George introduced me to my first true hoagie sandwich, or the sound of his voice---the richest and best voice I have ever known. Love, condolences, and best wishes to all the family.

My heart is saddened to learn of Georges passing. When I returned home to Norfolk with my 5 children, George helped me get a vehicle, taught me about the value of collecting, never once questioned my ability to drive the crane, and was the kindest man, right along with my father, that I have ever known. So many lives have been enriched because they had the pleasure of knowing George.
