Gerald "Buck" Holton

Chesapeake - Gerald Franklin "Buck" Holton, 89, passed away January 14, 2018.

Born in Whatcheer, IA, he was the son of the late Frank and Treva Holton. He retired as a Planner and Estimator at Norfolk Naval Shipyard and he and his wife, Clara, were the former owners of Norfolk Tent, Ye Olde Curiosity Shop and Attic Treasures. He was a lifelong member of Moose Lodge # 898, former member of Khedive Shrine Temple in Chesapeake, past member of Doric Masonic Lodge #44, longtime member of Rogers Deer Club in Suffolk, and a longtime bowling league member at Indian River Lanes.

Left to cherish his memory: his wife, Clara K. Holton; daughters, Susan Austin and husband, Barry Sawyer, Robin Webber and husband, Russ, Nancy Curtis and husband, Greg, and Robin Rizzo and husband, Mike; a son, David Holton and wife, Debbie; a sister, Doris Freese; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Jean Shaddeau Holton and a brother, Kenny Holton.

The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel on Thursday, Jan. 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19, in the funeral home chapel.
