LEOMINSTER -- Louise M. (Dauphinais) Dion, 88, of 75 Norwood Ave., died Saturday evening, Dec. 14, in her home, after an illness.
Born Oct. 15, 1914, in Fitchburg, she was the daughter of Joseph and Clarina (Bedard) Dauphinais. She had lived most of her life in Fitchburg.
She worked as a seamstress for most of her life, working at the former H. Margolin Co. and Comfort Slipper Co. as well as at the former Independent Lock Co., all in Fitchburg. She retired many years ago.
Mrs. Dion was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne and the Bowling Club of Fitchburg. She enjoyed quilting.
She leaves a son, Arthur H. Dion of Ardmore, Pa.; a daughter, Claire M. Paine of Fitchburg; two brothers, Adelard Dauphinais of Fitchburg and Edward Dauphinais of Sun City, Ariz.; three sisters, Sister Florina Dauphinais of Selery, Canada, Mina Sylvian of Blairsville, Ga., and Lena Germaine of Sun City; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces. Her husband, Benjamin F. Dion, died in 1962. A son, Arthur Dion and a daughter Pauline Dion, both of Fitchburg, predeceased her., as did three brothers, Victor Dauphinais of Phoenix Ariz., and Remie Dauphinais and Leon Dauphinais, both of Fitchburg, and five sisters, Alma Dauphinais of Sun City Ariz., Alice Dion of Chandler, Ariz., Rosanne Stevenson of Alaska, Marguerite Trainque of Westminster, and Cecile Dauphinais of Fitchburg.
DION -- On Dec. 14, Louise M. (Dauphinais) Dion, 88, of Leominster. The funeral will be held on Thursday, Dec. 19, at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of The Lake Church, 1400 Main St., with the burial to follow in St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Fitchburg. Calling hours at the Lavery-Chartrand Funeral Home, 99 Summer St., Fitchburg, will be on Wednesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Hospice of Nashoba Nursing Service, 280 Ayer Rd., P.O. Box 319, Harvard, Ma 01451; or to the Our Lady of the Lake Memorial Fund, 1400 Main St., Leominster, MA 01453.
