Mercedes Garcia Obituary
Virginia Beach - Mercedes de la Cruz Garcia, 51, of the 1500 block of Millington Drive, passed away August 6, 2012 in Sentara Princess Anne Hospital.
A native of Imus, Cavite, Philippines, she was a Telemetry Technician and Nursing Unit Secretary with Sentara Princess Anne Hospital. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
She is survived by her loving husband of 12 years, Jerry Garcia, her daughter, Jillianne Garcia of Va. Beach, three sisters, Alicia Pakingan and Julieta Lacson both of Philippines and Angelita Camana and husband Bob of Norfolk, and three brothers, Moises de la Cruz of P.I., Ernesto de la Cruz of Va. Beach and Danilo de la Cruz of P.I. She is also survived by a niece, Debbie Camana, a nephew, Robyne Camana, and his son Rocket all in the USA and several nieces and nephews in the P.I. She was predeceased by her sister, Lilian dela Cruz.
A funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday at 11 Am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Timothy Kuhneman officiating. The burial will follow in Colonial Grove Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Kempsville Chapel Friday from 5 to 9 PM with a Wake Service at 6 PM. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com

Such a sad time for such a beautiful family. She and I had some wonderful conversations during the night, the last few times I cared for this precious lady.
