I had the pleasure of working with Purita for a number of years at Azalea Garden Middle School where we working with children with special needs. No departmental festivity was complete without her pancit or eggs rolls.
I wish to extend my condolences to all of her friends and family.
"Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her."

Tita Purita was a light in our lives. She was both a close friend to both my mother and our family, as well as a teacher to my girls at the School of Creative and Performing Arts at the Philippine Cultural Center. Her exuberant energy and joy in sharing her cultural knowledge, her cooking, and her precious time will never be forgotten. Tita taught my middle child, Tagalog poems which she performed on stage. The time she invested in them fostered both curiosity and confidence in my girls. We are also grateful for her friendship with my mother. Since our father passed almost three years ago- she was an ever present fixture in her life and in our lives; this brought much joy and reassurance.
We greatly miss you Tita Purita! We pray for you and for your family. With love always, The Gantous and Hipol Families
