Virginia Beach - Mr. William "Kevin" Keppel, age 54, of Florida and formerly of Virginia Beach, Virginia, also having lived in London, England; Christiansburg, VA; and New London, CT died unexpectedly, Monday April 23, 2018. Born July 7, 1963 in Pittsburgh, PA a son to the late William L. and Carol P. (Evans) Keppel. Kevin was a graduate of Baldwin high school and also served in the US Navy. At the time of his passing Kevin was employed by Holy Cross hospital where he was working as an operating room technician. He traveled the world and made many friends everywhere he went, never meeting a stranger. Kevin was always happy, ready to have fun and known as the life of the party. He enjoyed many things and was very good at them such as bowling, swimming, scuba diving, music festivals, dancing, having a cocktail with friends, walking his dog Gap, traveling, riding his motorcycle to the beach to work on his tan and always happiest when he could watch the sunset and sip champagne. Kevin was a kind and good hearted person who always enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He is loved and missed by all of us! We hope that Heaven has a beach for Kevin. Kevin leaves to cherish his memory his husband, Robert Toney; beloved sisters, Kimberly (Jock) Hudon of Pittsburgh, PA and Pamela (Tom) Mentz, of Virginia Beach, VA; nephew, Steven Mentz; niece, Amanda Mentz; great-niece and nephew, Courtney and William Mentz; along with his (little dog and best buddy) Mind the Gap and so many wonderful friends and relatives will carry the love of Kevin in their hearts. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Carol Keppel; grandparents, Dr. William Howard Evans and Margaret (Schaffer) Evans; William and Bessie (Lang) Keppel.
