BARTONVILLE - Henry William Schultz, 89, longtime resident of Bartonville and Peoria County, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, in Fort Myers, Fla.
A celebration of his life of will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, at St. John Lutheran Church, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
He was born on Feb. 5, 1925, to Anna M. (Stuaan) Schultz and Rudolph C. Schultz in Peoria County. He was married to Verna A. Miller for 60 years, prior to her death. Henry married Rosemary Zilm, and they were married for seven years.
Henry spent his 89 years enjoying life. He loved his family, his friends and his work.
Henry "Hank" was a lifelong employee of Caterpillar Tractor Company and served most of his 42 years as a buyer in the Purchasing Department. He retired from Caterpillar in 1987.
Henry was a member of St. John Lutheran Church for 68 years, serving many years on the church council.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Verna; and one son.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Schultz; children, Pamela (Fred) Taccona, Larry (Pamela) Schultz and Janet (Daniel) Zang; sisters-in-law, Lois A. Miller and Mary Jo (Glenn) Miller; and seven grandchildren, Mike (Wendy) Zang, Tom Zang, Steve Zang, Tori (Bud) Madron, Matthew Schultz, Heather Zang and Anthony Zang; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and godchildren.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. John Lutheran Church, 6614 W. Smithville Road, Bartonville, IL 61607.
