TREMONT - Herman R. DuBois, 77, of Tremont died at 6:27 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007, at Proctor Hospital in Peoria.
He was born Dec. 21, 1929, in Metamora to Herman J. and Ardella D. (Healy) DuBois. He married Donna Jean Baker on Nov. 16, 1956, in Peoria, and she survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Pamela DuBois of Peoria and Kathleen (Tony) Flannigan of Jefferson City, Mo.; one son, Donald (Bonnie) DuBois of Tremont; two sisters, Myra Carr of Roswell, N.M., and Margaret Simpson of Pekin; one brother, David Dubois of Tremont; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Donald.
Herman was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean War.
He was employed by ABF Freight Systems for 35 years, until his retirement.
He was a member of VFW Post 2078, East Peoria, Tremont Masonic Lodge 462 and Teamsters Local 627 Retirees Club.
His family will never forget his ever-present spirit. We love and miss you, Dad.
A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. The Rev. Fr. Patrick Fixsen will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13 at Davis Mortuary, Tremont Chapel, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Cremation will be accorded following services, and private burial of cremated remains will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Metamora at a later date.
