PEORIA - Thomas P. Morrissey III, 71, of Peoria passed away at 7:05 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.
Tom was born on March 30, 1939, in Peoria to Thomas P. II and Kathryn Schlicksup Morrissey. He married Mary Beth O'Neill on Aug. 29, 1964, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tiskilwa, Ill. She survives.
He is also survived by one son, Thomas P. IV (Patricia) Morrissey of White Bear Lake, Minn.; one daughter, Molly (Rick) Schuler of Edwards, Ill.; six grandchildren, Thomas Morrissey 5th and Ryan Morrissey, Kaitlin, Connor, Brendan and Bridget Schuler; and four sisters, Kay (Mike) Gray, Pat (Tim) Hickman, Mary (Tim) Wake and Trudy (Don) Cannon.
He was a peacetime Army veteran.
Tom was a graduate of St. Bernard's Grade School and a 1957 graduate of Spalding Institute.
He was president of Mericon Industries and a partner in Inventory Technology Inc.
He was a member of St. Brendan's Division. Tom was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and a former member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, and St. Thomas Catholic Church.
He enjoyed spending time at his home in Eagle River, Wis.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, at St. Vincent de Paul Church, with the Rev. Dustin Schultz officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Wright & Salmon Mortuary. Additional visitation will be 30 minutes before the Mass at the church. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery in Kickapoo.
Memorial contributions may be made to Children's Hospital of Illinois at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center; St. Brendan's Division in Peoria; or charity of the donor's choice.

So sorry to hear of Tom's passing. He was a good friend at Spalding. We had a great group and a lot of fun. I really enjoyed coming to the family home after the 50th reunion with all the guys.

I have been in Texas and did not learn of Tom's death until this morning when I got an e-mail from my daughter Janet ( your old baby sitter) My wife and I saw Tom and Mary Beth with another couple at thr RED LOBSTER a few weeks ago. We did not want to interrup so we did not go over to speak with you. Now I wish we had. You have our sympathy and prayers.
