BETTY FRANCES SMITH
WHEELERSBURG - Betty Frances Smith (Kinker) age 85 passed away peacefully on December 7, 2015 after a long illness. Born in Wheelersburg Ohio, raised in South Webster Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Nannie and Manuel Kinker. She married the love of her life, the late James William Smith in 1956 and together they raised their two daughters Cathy (and Paul) Marcotte of Elkader, Iowa and Carol (and Michael) Dillon of Bedford, NH. Lovingly referred to as "Meemes", Betty's family was paramount in her life as she was a dedicated wife, mother and Great Grandmother. She is cherished and survived by her daughters, Cathy and Carol, her six grandchildren, Adam (and Tracy) Marcotte, Erin Marcotte, Michael (and Kimberly) Marcotte, Megan Dillon, Patrick Dillon and Matthew Dillon and her wonderful three great grandchildren Kaitlyn, Lincoln and Henry Marcotte whom she often proclaimed were "Perfect". A kind and gentle woman, Betty will be best remembered for her generous heart, sweet temperament, and devotion to family. She enjoyed gardening, pie, traveling and creating beautiful hand stitched quilts. Betty is also survived by her siblings Joann Weaver of Wheelersburg, Oh, Jean Lewis of Tucson, AZ, Dan and Tom Kinker of South Webster, Oh, her uncle Robert Estep of Portsmouth, Oh, her sister in law Norma Jean Staten of Southpoint, Oh, many nieces and nephews and her dear friend Betty Morgan. In addition to her late husband James, Betty was predeceased by her brother James Kinker of Waverly, Oh.
Memorial services will be held at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg Ohio on January 2, 2016 from 12:00-2:00. If desired, donations in lieu of flowers may be made in memory of Betty Smith to Home Health and Hospice at HHHC.org.

Betty was an angel. I am so sad for all of you. She was such a sweet soul and those oatmeal cookies! No one could make them like Betty. Sending lots of love to all.
