GENEVIEVE ENTLER DAVIS
PORTSMOUTH-Genevieve Entler Davis (Genny/Sis) 90 of Portsmouth, died Thursday July 30, 2015 at SOMC Hospice. She was born May 27, 1925 in West Portsmouth, to the late Ray Jessie and Edith McCann Entler. She retired from Mercy Hospital in 1992 where she worked as a nurse for 33 years and was a former member of Nauvoo United Methodist Church. Along with her parents Genny was preceded in death by her husband beloved Norman E. (Buss) Davis, twin granddaughters; Kelly and Shelly Davidson a brothers; Ray Jr. and Richard Entler and a sister Juanita Shy. She was also preceded in death by a special friend that she loved to travel with; Helen Hancock.
Genny is survived by a daughter Linda Davidson of Wheelersburg, a son Gary Davis of Salt Lake City, granddaughter Shawna (Kevin) Imprasert of Seattle WA, a brother and sister in law Delbert and Louella Entler of West Portsmouth, special nieces; Kima Lauder and Rae-Jean Wagner along with several other nieces and nephews.
Genevieve was fortunate enough to spend the last 7 years of her life at Hillview Retirement Center. A special thanks goes to the nurses and staff who cared for her in her last months, also to the SOMC ER staff and the Portsmouth Ambulance staff. A special thank you to everyone at SOMC Hospice where she was able to pass with dignity and respect. She planned her last day by reuniting her children and her family who were with her at her beside.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday August 5, 2015 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Chaplin Jason Coriell officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday and 1 hour prior to the service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Hillview Scholarship Fund.
