ALBERT CLAY, JR. "June Bug" Was born on March 12, 1935, in Gary, Indiana, to the late Birdie and Albert Clay, Sr. He was a lifetime Gary resident. He attended Roosevelt High School. June Bug honorably served in the U.S. Army for two years. He was formerly employed with the City of Gary Parks Department for 13 years. He was a well known saxophonist and played with numerous well known bands. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Eula Foreman and Mable Grimes; son, Jerome Clay; granddaughters, ShanToinette Jackson and LaShawn Clay, and great-grand-daughter, Selina Hunter. Albert departed this life on Monday, September 20, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Julia Clay; 1 brother, Clifford Clay; 1 son, Michael Clay; 3 daughters, Sandra Dillon, Deborah Jackson, all of Gary, and Rhonda (Hector) Joiner of Fort Worth, TX; 5 stepdaughters, Irene Jones, Margaret Walker, Diane Hollins and Gloria Ward; 4 stepsons, Charles Hollins, Jerome Hollins, Eddie Hollins, all of Gary, IN, Vernon Hill of Wisconsin; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grand-children; 1 great-great grandchild; best friends, Howard and Rudy; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation Friday, September 24, 2004, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Funeral services Friday at 2:00 p.m., all services at the Guy & Allen Chapel, 2959 W. 11th Ave. Rev. Glenn Dunson, officiating. Interment Oak Hill Cemetery. Professional services rendered by: Guy & Allen Funeral Directors, Inc.
