Ida Mae Cody

1931 - 2023

Ida Mae Cody was born April 15th, 1931, in Hazel Hurst MS to the late Ralph Noland and Ester Noland. Beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother transitioned into eternal life on January 29th, 2023. Ida wed Fordrey L. Cody Sr. and unto them five children were born. Ida was a graduate of Roosevelt High School and of Purdue University. Ida accepted Christ at an early age was a member of First Church of God for over 30 years. Ida was preceded in death by her parents; children: Camille, Fordrey Jr., and Philippa. She leaves to cherish her memory loving sons Michael (Sharmaine) Cody and Jeffrey Cody of Gary, IN; Sister Lavonia Noland Sorrell of Crown Point, IN and Debra Johnson of San Antonio, TX; brothers Ralph Noland and Michael Noland of Chicago, IL. Loving grandchildren: Darrol Bates and Darrick Bates of Indianapolis, IN; Kasey Tolliver Nalls and Myles Tolliver of Gary, IN; Rodney Cody, Victoria Cody, Roderick Dix and Angelica Dix of CA; Ray Dix Jr. of Gary, IN; Anthony Green and Kim Cody of Memphis, TN; Michael Barnes of Savannah, GA; Leslie Cody of McDonough, GA; Erin Cody of VA; Jermel Fisher of Atlanta, GA; Ralph Taylor of Las Vegas, NV; Tachea Corbett of NY and cherished granddaughter NaKisha Cody of Merrillville, IN; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. All services Saturday, February 4th at First Church of God, 134 E 43rd Ave, Gary, IN. Visitation from 9am until 11am; services immediately following. Interment at Evergreen Memorial Park; Hobart, IN.
