Michael Powell Obituary

MASON CITY- Michael Allen Powell, 54, of Mason City, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, (Dec. 25, 2006).

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday (Dec. 28, 2006) at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with Pastor Paul Nelson of St. James Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be held in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Michael Powell Memorial Fund.

Michael was born June 4, 1952, in Albert Lea, Minn., to Andy and Lorraine (Lien) Powell. He attended Mason City Schools. Michael was an all-around good person. He could talk to anyone. He enjoyed talking to people especially older than himself to hear the stories of their lives. Michael also enjoyed reading, camping with family, cooking and fishing.

Michael will be sadly missed by his mother, Lorraine Powell; children: Lori, Andy, Michelle Powell, Travis McChesney, Zach and Michael Dutcher and step-son Robert Miller; grandchildren, Tyler, Dustin, Bryant, Lydia, Destini, Journey, Gracelynn, Shayla and Maddison; brothers, Robert Powell and wife, Sharon, Richard Powell and wife, Sherri, and William Powell; sisters, Judy Fitzpatrick and husband, Bill, Barbara Stuchel and Larry Smith of Mason City; nephews: Robert Powell, David Hurst, Josh, Lucas and Danny Powell, Lil' David Hurst and Jason West; nieces: Kristin, Katie, Abby Jo and Mandi Jo Powell, Bridget Holly and Lyndsey Hurst.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Andy Powell, and nephew, Jason Powell.
