1929 - 2024

Willye Lyn Williams was born September 28, 1929 in Brandon (Fannin) MS to the late Booker T and Mary Ella McDonald, as a child she joined and attended the family church Wesley Chapel CME Church where she learned that trusting in the Lord was a key element to longevity which was proven in her 94 years of life , as a child she also attended the one room school house located in the Fannin community that taught her basic studies and right from wrong , as a young lady she met and married the love of her life Monroe Williams Jr. in June of 1952 and the two knew they wanted something better out of life so they made their journey north in the early 60's and made Gary, IN their home and the two shared a beautiful life together that lasted 50 years until he was called to eternal rest in 2002, Willye lives to cherish precious memories to her beloved sister Clementine Smith of Gary, IN. 3 brothers Rev. Melvin (Benita) Ervin of Brandon, MS. Eric (Yolanda) Ervin of Ridgeland, MS. and Edward Wallace of Goshen Springs, MS. Visitation Wednesday January 31, 2024, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at Guy & Allen Funeral Home 2959 W. 11th Avenue Gary IN. Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 3, 2024, at 12 noon at Shady Grove CME Church 306 Church Rd. Brandon, MS. 39047.
