Marilyn L (Gruentzel) Anderson

93 of Appleton, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home.

She was born on September 27, 1922 in Crandon, WI, the daughter of the late

Eugene Arthur Gruentzel and Odelia (Krohn) Gruentzel. Marilyn was a veteran of WWII Serving with the Waves. She was a graduate of Columbia College in Chicago. Marilyn was a member of St Joseph's Catholic Church Appleton. Marilyn married the love of her life, Leo Bryan Anderson, April 27, 1948, in West Memphis, Arkansas, sharing 48 years together.

Marilyn was a loving wife, wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her happiest times were spent with her family. She loved painting, gardening, rock collecting, music and her Persian show cats. She enjoyed spending time with her very good friends from the art club.

Marilyn is survived by five children: Janis (Emory) Adams, Leo (Cheryl) Anderson, Yvonne(Tim) Dunlavy, Greg Anderson, Shannon(Rob)Bros. She is a proud Grandmother of 13 grandchildren: Emory and Andrew Adams, Ben and Abby Anderson, Megan(Josiah)Kelly, Conor Dunlavy, Bryan (Aislynn) Turner, Daniel Turner, Matthew(Rea) Turner. Katie and Hannah Mundinger (Bros), Mike and Nico Bros. Two great grandchildren: Declan Kelly and Annabelle Turner, and close friend Teddy Page. She is further survived by Sisters-in-law: Joan Gruentzel and Mary Garny, Brothers-in-law: Ruble and Ray(Phyllis) Anderson and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters: Bea (Hank)Tallier, Paul Gruentzel, John Gruentzel, Charles (Mary) Gruentzel, Richard (Rita) Gruentzel, Eugene Gruentzel and Fritzie (Dan) Robinson; brothers-in-law: William(Emma) Anderson, Gene Forster and Ken Garny and Sister-in-law Ruby Anderson.

A Mass of Resurrection for Marilyn will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church (404 W Lawrence St.) Appleton with Rev. James Leary OFM Cap officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday directly at church from 9:30 AM until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name.

A special thank you to Mary, Stephanie, Jane, Linette, Sherry for the unconditional love and care they have provided throughout the last few years to Marilyn. Thank you to the wonderful staff at Good Shepherd Nursing Home and Unity Hospice for their compassionate care and support.

Isaiah 40:31 But those who hope in the Lord Will renew their strength.
