Victor Walter Owens, 85, of Ammon, passed away Friday, Nov. 7, 2014, at his home.
He was born Nov. 18, 1928, in Teton, to Mary Isabell Harrison Owens and Thomas Walter Owens. He grew up in Teton and graduated from St. Anthony High School in 1947.
He served in the United States Navy from 1948 to 1952, during the Korean War. He was proud of his service and maintained a high level of patriotism throughout his life.

He was often found helping neighbors and friends with the installation and repair of electrical projects. He had a contagious sense of humor and an uncanny ability to make everyone feel special and needed. The local lakes and forests were an extension of his own backyard and weekends would find him frequenting his favorite fishing spots. The backcountry of Yellowstone was one of his favorite places, and he looked forward to traditional annual trips with his friends and family.
