Frances C. Pesez
May 3, 1943 - April 17, 2024
CLIFTON PARK, NY - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mom, Frances C. Pesez. She died peacefully at her home on Wednesday April 17, 2024. Franny was born on May 3, 1943 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Kenneth and Mary McGovern Cook. With her identical twin sister, Betty (Don) O'Meara by her side, Franny graduated from St Mary's Academy in Glens Falls, NY, earned a Registered Nursing Degree at St. Francis' School in Poughkeepsie, and enjoyed many adventures in San Francisco and New York City before marrying the love of her life, Philip G. Pesez, in 1970.
Franny was an amazing mom to her five children: Kristine (John) Milham, Shireen (Dave) Rhoades, Stephanie (Sean Lynch) Pesez, Philip K. (Amelia) Pesez, and Nicole (Anthony) Calabrese. Family was the most important thing in the world to Franny. When the kids were young, she worked part-time as a registered nurse in the CCU and PCU units at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY. When they got older, she took on new roles as a patient screener and administrator at Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital, where she worked for almost thirty years. A lifelong learner, Franny earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Excelsior College in her late 60s.
Franny was very proud of and devoted to her 13 grandkids, who range in age from 2 to 22. She loved vacationing with them on the Jersey shore, celebrating holidays at her home, and attending their numerous school and sporting events. She chronicled all her family's adventures and milestones, and presented them with a new journal each year. Franny took great pleasure in joining her high school friends and nursing colleagues for monthly luncheons. She was a communicant of St. Edward the Confessor Church in Clifton Park.
Franny was predeceased by her beloved husband, Phil, in 2010. In addition to her twin sister, children, and grandchildren, she leaves behind siblings: Robert (Dee) Cook, Kenneth (Donna) Cook, MaryBeth (George) Straface, and Billy (Gail) Cook; and sisters-in-law: Mary Pesez Kames and Suzanne Merrill. She also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, and friends.
