Barbara Fiorito Obituary
Wappingers Falls, NY - Barbara J. Fiorito, 82, of Wappingers Falls, passed away Monday, August 22, 2016 at Wingate at Dutchess, Fishkill.
She was born in Tunkhannock, PA January 15, 1934, the daughter of Edward Young and May Donaldson. On Sept. 1, 1950, she married Joseph A. Fiorito in Ossining, N.Y. He survives at home.
Barbara was a member of the Fishkill Church of the Nazarene. She was an LPN at Phelps Mem. Hospital, Butterfield Hospital, and a teachers aide at the Childrens Ark. Barbara was a foster mother of many children. She loved to garden, sew, and quilt, and also active in various church activities, and volunteered at Meals on Wheels.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Holly Olson (Phil), Mt. Holly, N.J., Robin Bell (David), Essex Junction, VT., Dan Fiorito (Beth), Fishkill,NY, Carlos Fiorito, Dunmore, PA, Frannie Fiorito, Wappingers Falls, NY, Millie Stevenson, Hudson, NY, and many foster children, Sisters, Sandy Foley, Arizona, 13 Grandchildren, 6 Great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her child, Terri Fiorito, and a sister, Pat Burhans.
Friends may call at the Delehanty Funeral Home 64 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls, Thursday from 4 to 7 PM. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at the Church of the Nazarene 953 Main St., Fishkill, N.Y. Inurnment Fishkill Rural Cemetery Mausoleum. Dearest Joe and family,
Our deepest sympathies as we have just learned of Barb's passing. She will always be remembered for the loving and kind woman she was and her love for the Lord. May you take some comfort in knowing she is now at home with her Saviour, Jesus Christ. Prayers are with you all during this time.
