Laurie Ferguson Obituary
Staatsburg - Laurie B. Ferguson, 67, a local resident for over ten years and formerly of Florida and Tennessee, died November 23, 2012 at home.
Born March 3, 1945 in Rhinebeck, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Margaret Lakestream Baker. She was a graduate of F. D. Roosevelt High School in Hyde Park.
Laurie was a Food Service Worker at Haviland Junior High School in the Hyde Park Central School District for several years.
She was a member of Purl Jam, a knitting/crocheting club that meets at the Staatsburg Library. She was also an avid reader, a fabulous seamstress, and a lover of animals.
A wonderful mother, grandmother, and sister, Laurie is survived by her daughter, Dawn Lovell, and husband, Les; son, Michael Cronk and wife, Linda; grandchildren, Amanda Lovell, Harrison Campbell, Steven Cronk, Fletcher Campbell, Randi Cronk, and Amber Cronk; sisters, Michele Baker and Susan Martin, Florence Wood, and Pat Smith and husband, Les; brother, Robert Baker and wife, Carol; nephew, Patrick Mansfield and wife, Lisa; niece, Nicole Baker; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A period of visitation will be from 3 to 6 pm, Monday, November 26th at Sweet's Funeral Home, Rte. 9, Hyde Park. In keeping with her wishes, cremation will take place at the convenience of the family.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am, Monday, December 3, 2012 at the Hyde Park United Methodist Church with a reception to follow.

Although we did not know Laurie, we know how big her heart was, by her love for her pugs. We are so sorry for her families' loss, and are honored that Curly Tail Pug Rescue was thought of, to honor Laurie's memory. Thank you. RIP, Laurie.

Aunt Laurie has been such a light to our family. She remembered everyone's birthday and anniversary and you never failed to received a personally designed and printed card from her. Her love for her family was overwhelming and she will be missed.

I got to know Laurie at Planet Fitness,she was my instructor for many classes I attended. She was a wonderful person, very sweet and kind. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.
