Dolores Holdiman, 92

Dolores "Dee" Holdiman, 92, of West Branch, formerly of Waterloo, died Sunday, May 31 at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City.

She was born June 20, 1922 in St. Paul, Minn. and was raised by her grandparents, Anna and Aloysius Atzmiller. She married Joseph W. Holdiman March 16, 1946 in Waterloo. He died October 4, 2010.

Survivors include two sons, David B. (Jeanine) Holdiman of Rosenberg, Texas and Stephen L. (Corinne) Holdiman of Fredricksburg, Va.; three daughters, Nancy Jo Burr of Burnsville, Minn., Diane Lea Hempenius and Debra Dee English of West Branch; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a granddaughter, Melanie Dee Holdiman.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation will be 4-8 pm Thursday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway where there will be a 4 pm rosary and a 7 pm vigil service. Visitation will continue for an hour before services at the church.

Dee enjoyed music, especially singing. She met her husband while singing in a "Big Band" band for the armed services in the Twin Cities. She sang in the Blessed Sacrament Choir from 1956 to 2010. We want to thank our "family" at Crestview Nursing & Rehab Center for their excellent care of Dee.
