Binghamton - Christine M. (Helm) Ferranti, 51, of Binghamton, went to heaven on October 16, 2019, to be with her beloved brother, Mark, after a courageous and brave 2 year battle with Glioblastoma brain cancer. Christine will be sadly missed by her husband of 25 years, John Ferranti; her parents, Donna and Joseph Helm; siblings Marcia, Bryan, Sharon, Tricia, John, and Joe; many special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her loyal four-legged furry friends—Benny, Charlie, Ellie, Sophie, and "Mommy." Christine was a 1986 graduate of Binghamton High School and went on to earn a degree in accounting from Binghamton University. Christine began her banking career with Binghamton Savings Bank in 1984 as a high school co-op, continuing on to Partners Trust, and lastly ending her career at M & T Bank as the Retail Regional Manager of the Southern East Region/Administrative Vice President. During her 34 year banking career, she was a dedicated, hard working employee who was a good mentor and role model to many, and developed long-lasting friendships along the way. Christine's family would like to thank her neurosurgeon, Dr. Khalid Sethi; Dr. Howard Alan Fine at Weill Cornell Neuro-Oncology; the UHS Medical Oncology group, including Dr. Yalamanchili and Deb Schaffer; and the staff at UHS North Tower 2 & South Tower 5. Special gratitude goes out to the compassionate staff and volunteers at Mercy House, who provided Christine and her family with comfort & kindness during her days spent there. Her family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 from 4-7pm at the Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home, 137 Robinson Street, Binghamton. A Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Mary of the Assumption Church, 192 Court Street, Binghamton, at 9:30 am on Wednesday, October 23, 2019. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Mercy House of the Southern Tier, 212 N. McKinley Ave, Endicott, NY 13760.
