Josephine SPIERINGS Obituary

SPIERINGS, Josephine "Sina" Josephine "Sina" Spierings, 89 died Friday July 22, 2016. Sina was born in the Netherlands to Johannes and Johanna van den Berg on April 5, 1927 and had been a resident of Santa Rosa since 1959. Sina was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband, Tony Spierings. Loving mother to Gary Spierings and his wife Jessi, and grandmother to Benjamin and Noah. Sina was also preceded in death by her dear son John. Sina is also survived by her sisters Marietja, Mimi, Annie, Nelly, Rikey, and predeceased by her brothers Jan, Antoon, and Andre of the Netherlands. Dear sister in law of the late Ted Spierings, and survived by his wife Dorothy of Santa Rosa and her family. Sina was a devoted and loving mother and wife. She was very proud of her family and loved being a grandma. Sina was known for her feistiness, and special sense of humor. Sina was a long standing and dedicated member as well as past Arch Druidess of the Santa Rosa Circle 66 Druids. For over 25 years Sina served as a volunteer at the Santa Rosa Kaiser Permanente gift shop, providing service as well as developing friendships with both customers and staff. Sina was known to many as the "Candy Lady". The Spierings family would like to extend our gratitude to all the staff at Brookdale Fountain Grove for their loving care for our mom. There will be a private service for immediate family members at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Sina's name to Memorial Hospice of Santa Rosa. Sina will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
