Patricia A. Michaelson Beaufort, SC Patricia A. Michaelson, 77, passed peacefully from this life on October 8, 2008, at the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, SC with all three of her children at her side. Family will receive friends on Saturday, October 11, from 9:30 - 10:30am at Anderson Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will begin at 10:30am in the Chapel of Anderson Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Mark Brinkmann. Burial will be held on Monday, October 13, at 10:30am in Beaufort National Cemetery. Mrs. Michaelson was born on April 13, 1931, in South Dakota, a daughter of the late Lloyd Williams and Thelma Hefner Williams. She was raised in Los Angeles, CA, received her high school diploma, then her college degree from Stephens College in Columbia, MO. She began her career in the banking industry before moving to the retail fashion industry in Los Angeles. She became involved in real estate, owning and managing her own successful business in Lancaster, SC. She then became involved in accounting in Columbia, SC, and finally retired from MWR at the Parris Island MCRD and MCAS, Beaufort, in 2006. She was a lifelong Episcopalian, was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, Hilton Head, SC. She loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, her church, traveling and the South Carolina lowcountry. She is survived by two sons, Rick Michaelson, MD, his wife Mitzi of Murfreesboro, TN, Chris Michaelson, his wife Terry of Waxhaw, NC, a daughter, Val Long, her husband Tim of Beaufort, SC, stepdaughter, Muffie Dretler, her husband Rob of Atlanta, GA, five grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
