Robert Floyd Fletcher

FLETCHER, Robert Floyd A long time resident of Sonoma County passed away on Sunday June 3rd, 2002.  Known to many as Bob, Professor Fletcher died just three days before his 84th birthday. He was known directly by over ten thousand students who studied mathematics, or math education under his tutelage.  Indirectly he effected the lives of hundreds of thousands of children who were touched by his effective methods of training teachers to seek out and use powerful educational methods to reach their students.  He served at various teaching posts in Healdsburg High School, SRJC and Sonoma State University. He passed away after a two week illness on Sunday afternoon. He is survived by his wife Barbara Fletcher of Windsor,   his daughter Susan Miller of Penngrove, his son Steven Fletcher of Dana Point, as well as his brother Taylor Fletcher of Fullerton and his sister Ruth Bryant of San Diego.  Additionally there are a  number of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great grandchildren who will miss him dearly. Grave side services will be held at Shiloh District Cemetery at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 5th 2002. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 4th from 4:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m at Daniels Chapel of the Roses, 1225 Sonoma Ave., Santa Rosa.  Casual Dress is acceptable.
