Thomas Alcaraz Obituary

THOMAS JOSEPH ALCARAZ Was born November 20, 1916 in Riverside, CA and passed away on December 21, 2007 at Kaiser Hospital in Fontana, CA. Tom was an army veteran of WWII, who served in the Pacific front. He received numerous medals including the purple heart. After his discharge from the army he worked for Norton AFB, retiring after 30 years of service. During his retirement he enjoyed being with his family and friends. He also enjoyed NASCAR racing, vintage cars, the Bonanza TV series and all casinos anywhere from California to Nevada, his favorite dog Katie, and much good conversation with family and friends. Tom is survived by his sister, Mercedes Guerrero of Rubidoux, CA. Step-father of Diane, Arlene, Rose, Tony, and Robert Marotta. Uncle of Johnny Jr., Louis Guerrero, Arthur Alcaraz, Irene Seitl, Margaret Larson, Helen Randall, and Lisa Baldwin. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Friends may call at the funeral home Thurs., Jan. 3, 2008 from 4 until 8 p.m. and are invited to attend the Evening Vigil Service at 6 p.m. in Akes Family's "Chapel Of The Chimes". Graveside Services will be conducted Fri., Jan. 4, 2008 at 11:15 a.m. in Riverside National Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to gather at Staging Area #2. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local VFW, in Tom's memory. For those who are unable to attend services the family has invited everyone to attend the reception immediately following at the home of Johnny Guerrero, 6356 Alton St., Rubidoux, CA.
