DOROTHY GARRISON Obituary



GARRISON, DOROTHY L. 94 - of Cape May Court House passed away on Friday, October 26, 2012. Born in Bridgeton to Walter and Bessie (Gaskill) Gruff, she married Furman Howard Garrison, Sr. in 1936 and worked in Stone Harbor at the Shelter Haven Motel. "Nana" as she was known to her grand-children and great grandchildren was totally devoted to their care and wellbeing. Dorothy enjoyed game shows, puzzles, Big Band Music, taking walks, and her beloved Philadelphia Phillies. Dorothy is survived by her children: Furman Howard (Sally) Garrison, Jr., Stephen William (Barbara) Garrison, Sandra Helen Garrison Wheaton, Mildred Shirley Garrison Bailey, Dorothy Marie (Peter) Garrison Leitch, and Stanley Joseph Garrison; sister Betty Babbish; as well as 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband in 1999 and son-in-law Fred Wheaton. Services are private. Donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312, and the Middle Township Rescue Squad, PO Box 331, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.
