Mary Iannette Obituary

Iannette, Mary Theresa, - 76, of Millville, NJ, and Surprise, AZ. Passed away peacefully at Jefferson University Hospital on October 7, 2021 after a 9 month battle with Leukemia. Mary will be forever remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Mary was born on December 2, 1944 in Philadelphia to the late Norman and Mary Hill. She graduated from Mercy Career and Technical High School and earned a license in cosmetology. Mary enjoyed dancing, especially the jitterbug, and was a regular on American Bandstand in the late 1950's. Mary met the love of her life, Gene, at the Jersey Shore and moved to NJ to marry and raise a family. Mary worked as a hairdresser and later at Shoprite as a cashier and office clerk in the courtesy department. She was a member of the Buena Jaycettes where she facilitated many fundraisers. Mary was attracted to the warmth of the Arizona sun and became a resident for 20 years, where she enjoyed golfing, dancing, shopping, and playing Mahjong with her friends. She was a finalist on the Dancing with the Stars tour at Sun City Grande. She was a member of the Sun City Grande Hiking Club, Mahjong Club, Putters Club, and Lady Niners Club. While back in NJ, Mary loved spending time with her friends golfing, playing Mahjong at Larry's II, and shopping trips to Talbots, where she was a well-known customer. Mary loved to watch 'Friends' and the Philadelphia Phillies, as she was a truly devoted Phillies fan. Over the years, she also enjoyed traveling, especially the many trips to Disney World with her family. Mary will be dearly missed and leaves behind her loving husband, Gene A. Iannette; her children, Kimberly Gruccio (Robert) and Gene M. Iannette (Marie); grandchildren, Jared and Karlie Gruccio and Hope Iannette and great grandchild, Carter Gruccio who brought many smiles and laugher to his GiGi. The family would like to thank the amazing doctors, nurses, and staff at Jefferson University who cared for Mary. Relatives and friends will be received on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 6pm to 9pm at the DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln, Ave. and at the church on Thursday, October 14, 2021 from 10am to 10:45am with a funeral mass at 11am at the Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Parish, St. Michael's Church, 504 S. West Avenue, Minotola. Memories, thoughts and prayers may be extended to the family by visiting dlfuneral.com. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Padre Pio Shrine, Landisville, NJ or The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society (LLS). Due to COVID-19 restrictions, everyone must wear a mask.
