WILLIAM KLINE Obituary

KLINE, WILLIAM H. 92 of Brigantine and Boynton Beach FL, FOUNDER of Kline Construction Co., Inc., originally of Brigantine, passed away on Sunday the 18th of March, 2012. William was born in Reading PA on October 11, 1919. His family moved to Brigantine when he was just a boy. He was the second longest living resident of Brigantine. William served in the United States Navy during World War II. After his service to our country, he came back to Brigantine, where he started Kline Construction in 1945 with one dump truck. During his life he was a member of the Brigantine Lions Club as well as serving as Commander of the Kline-McAnney American Legion Post 396. He was a Lifetime Gold card member of the Operating Engineers Local 825. He was also one of the original partners that purchased the Brigantine Country Club, contributing to what it is today. After he retired part time to Florida, he once served as President of the Fort Lauderdale Country Club. He was also a proud member of The Palm Beach Leisureville Golf Course where he beat his friend Tom by one shot on the Saturday before he passed. He embraced life and he lived it well. Most importantly, William will be remembered by his family for his loyalty and pride. Family was sacred to him and he loved them all with a fierceness unsurpassed. He was never afraid to express his love, either with words or with his hugs. And he will be sadly missed. William is predeceased by his parents, George H. Kline and Leidy Crammer-Kline; his brothers, John Edward and Robert Kline; his sisters, Mae Kline D'Errico, Mary Lake and June Sykes. He is also predeceased by his wife of over sixty years, Harriet M. Kline. William is survived by his current wife, Jean Pepp Kline; his sisters, Susan Ritchie and E. Patricia Kline; his sons, William H. Kline, Jr (Joann) and J. Edward Kline (Gert); his grandchildren, William M. Kline (Joanne), Katherine M. Penate (Miguel), Kenneth J. Kline (Virginia), Kevin T. Kline and Sandra L. Kline; his great-grandchildren, Julia and Kelly Kline, Michael and Marcus and Gabriella Penate and Ashley Kline; And by many nephews and nieces. Services will be held at the Community Presbyterian Church, 1501 Brigantine Avenue, Brigantine, NJ 08203 on Saturday the 24th of March, 2012. Friends and relatives are invited to gather from 10am to 11am, where a memorial service will immediately follow. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Remembering your dear father and also your sweet mother on this day.

God Bless you always.

Bill was a strong willed and wonderful man. Honest to the core with a great work and family ethic. Bill truly loved his family and friends. Harriett his wife and best friend was his "Forever Love"
Bill was stern yet, generous he would invite Eddie and Bill Jr friends over to shoot pool while Harriett fed us all. One great way to keep us out of trouble. I have always held the most up-most "Respect" for Bill Kline as all of Brigantine did.

May he be resting in the heavens with his beautiful wife while keeping a smile over his family, friends and grandchildren who brought so much joy to his life.

March 26, 2012

Sorry we were not able to be there for the services. we have such great memories of Mr. Kline. George use to pick up all the trash in Brig. with one trash truck and spoke to him every trash day...way back. I met him when I was 12 years old... He was and still was so handsome, when I just saw him recently. I always remembered the guys playing pool and Mrs. Kline's dad watching us and Mr. Kline having such respect for the cute old guy! Even when we were all bad (mostly the boys) he had the most beautiful smile and was such a caring and honest person. What great times at there old garages with him. He was a saint back then and is surely one now.
Bill, Eddie and family, if we could all follow in his foot steps the world would be a better place. God Bless all of you. George & Lora Tourigian Maul Brigantine, N.J.

March 25, 2012

Bill Kline was my father, James "Jim" Knauff's best friend from the earliest days of their childhoods. They played together In the dunes of Brigantine when there were not many others living on the island, double-dated during courtship days, went off to fight the "big one", came home victorious and built families simultaneously. Bill & Harriet gave me my own best friend Eddie with whom I remain close as a brother. They shared their home with me and provided summer employment after my family moved to Florida. My Godfather, Bill Kline was preceded in passing two weeks ago by my father. I pray they are together even now in paradise. Thank you, Jesus that my life was shaped by two wonderful men.

Bill, Ed and family,
So many great memories I wouldn't know where to start. Hard to believe that next month will be fifty years since my parents bought the house next to your Mom and Dad. I grew up with Kline Construction in my blood, Like so many others, your Dad taught me so much over the years. I feel like I lost part of my own family. My heart goes out to all of you. I'm so sorry I couldn't make the service.
I know he's in a better place now , playing golf on the most beautiful course anyone can imagine, hitting the ball with the power he missed so much, and oh yea....... there are no three putts in heaven.
I loved your Dad and will miss him very much. My sincere condolences to the family.

Dear Bill and Ed, My condolences on the passing of your Dad. I learned from your family when I worked with you that a hard day of work only makes you stronger. Kline construction developed and nurtured more boys into men in Brigantine than I can count. A fine Man and Great Brigantine Family!

Dear Ed, Bill & family,
We are so sorry to hear of you father's passing. He's in heaven now with the angels for he truly was a great man and father. We will always be greatful for all he did for our family. He gave Tom his start in life way back in the 60's and helped him become a member of Local 825 when the casinos became a reality in the 70's. He gave to us more than anyone realizes and for that we are enterally grateful. We are so sorry we will not be able to be there Saturday to express our feelings in person. We will however, be on the road, returning to Brigantine the following week. We will see you both soon and send you our love and prayers at this time.
