DONAHUE, Walter S., Jr.
96, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, September 29, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Lillian (Kenney) Donahue for seventy-three years. Born in Dorchester, Massachusetts, the son of the late Walter Scott Donahue and Grace (Hawes) Donahue, he resided in Pawtucket over seventy years. Walter served as a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was a 1940 graduate of the Boston Public Latin School and a 1944 graduate of Bowdoin College, where he was an All Star Football player; Class Agent and Director and Chairman of the Alumni Fund. Walter was employed by the Union Wadding Company for forty-five years until retiring in 1991 as Vice-president of Sales. He was an Honorary Life member of the Pawtucket Country Club. Besides his wife, he leaves three children, W. Scott Donahue, III, Susan J. Pimental and Alan R. Donahue; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Services with Military Honors will be private. Interment will follow at Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. Visitation and flowers are respectfully omitted.
